The Story So Far...

Polish Cultural Extravaganza

Organised by the Polish Community Association

Downend Library hosted a Polish cultural extravaganza on June 12th as part of the Engage 2004.

Organised by library staff and Our Lady of Ostrabrama Polish church, the event attracted 150 people to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Poland without leaving South Gloucestershire.

Traditional Polish food, singing and dancing was provided by the Polish Church who were joined by the Polski Kwiaty Choir (The Polish Flower Choir) from Bristol and the Oberek Dance Group from Swindon.

The event was opened by the Polish Consul in Bristol, George Peszynski.
