About Engage

Want to know more about Engage ?

Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the project:

What is Engage 2004 ?

Engage is a project to promote the diversity of culture in South Gloucestershire through events and activities. This will culminate with a Festival of Culture on September 25th 2004.

Is it relevant to me ?

If you organise events and activities or you represent a cultural group that is active in South Gloucestershire this is great opportunity to promote what you do and your heritage.

What are the benefits ?

• By joining together and promoting events under a single banner – Engage 2004, we will be able to raise the profile of the many cultural activities that take place in South Gloucestershire.

• By promoting the diversity of South Gloucestershire we will be able to promote an identity for the area that reflects all cultures.

• This will help to break down barriers and develop a greater understanding of the different cultures in South Gloucestershire.

• We will also be able to open access to all of our events to new audiences through working together and promoting each others’ events.

• For South Gloucestershire Council, it is an opportunity to build links, and open understanding and access to services to a wider community.

How will Engage events be promoted ?

• The Engage website will be continuously updated with details of upcoming events and activities. It willl include reviews and articles about past events, together with information about the cultural heritage that were their focus.

• Events will be promoted in established newsletters produced by the Council and via community group newsletters and websites (e.g. see the South Gloucestershire Asian Project - SGAP - website).

• Press releases will be submitted promoting events and the Engage project.

• As funding allows further opportunities will be developed.
